Vasile Costiuc, George Simion's man in the Republic of Moldova, promotes the interests of the pro-Russian Șor, accuses the power

The power in Chisinau, through Lilian Carp, accused Vasile Costiuc, the PPDA leader, of promoting the interests of the pro-Russian Ilan Șor in the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing that the formation's candidate for the position of mayor of Orhei is the fugitive oligarch's man. Costiuc denies the accusations.

Lilian Carp, deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and president of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission of the Moldovan Parliament, brought the accusations in a live on her Facebook page.
Support of the Shor network
“After the parliamentary elections in 2025, it was confirmed that Costiuc was helped by the Șor network to cross the electoral threshold. This supports the statements I have made since then. An argument in this regard is that, for the position of mayor, Costiuc put forward a candidate close to Ilan Șor from his party. It is about Victor Perțu, a person who appears in Șor's entourage since 2015, existing information and in public space. On July 30, 2015, Perțu was appointed interim director of Apa-Canal Orhei, after the former director, Mihai Chiperi, was suspended from his position, as he did not agree with certain actions of Ilan Şor”. mentioned the elected power in Chisinau.
Shor did not disappear
According to Lilian Carp, Vasile Costiuc submitted the candidate for the position of mayor of the municipality of Orhei at the suggestion of the pro-Russian Ilan Șor.
“Costiuc does not act independently, but is dependent on the decisions of Ilan Șor. We can say with certainty that he has a political debt towards him, which he pays by promoting some people from Șor's entourage. An example is the candidate put forward for the position of mayor, who comes from his close circle. The situation reminds, to a certain extent, of “A lost letter” by Caragiale, only that, in this case, not we are talking about a letter, but about a lost candidate, found in Costiuc's party. Paraphrasing the well-known refrain, “Jana is not dead, Jana is transforming”, we can say that Șor did not disappear either, but only changed its form of manifestation, finding itself in Costiuc's actions. That is why it is important to remain vigilant and attentive to the activity of this character, who, in my opinion, continues to promote the interests of Ilan Şor in the Republic of Moldova”, elected Lilian Carp explained.
The reaction of the PPDA leader
Vasile Costiuc, deputy and leader of the Political Party Democracy at Home (PPDA), came shortly with a reply.
“I have no connection with Şor, I have no discussion with him and I never had. Şor abandoned Orhei, he abandoned everything. He retired from the town hall and what you say (no-Lilian Carp) does not make any sense. If Șor wanted to have a mayor in Orhei, he would have had him and did not leave the town hall, so these stories are for children”. stated Vasile Costiuc.
The ballot in the municipality of Orhei will take place on May 17, it being organized after Tatiana Cociu, the man of the fugitive oligarch Ilan Șor, resigned from his position in December 2025.
She, along with other mayors, gave up her mandate following an appeal launched by Ilan Şor. Also then, the pro-Russian announced the cessation of “social benefits”, the announcement being made shortly after the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova, which were won by the pro-European party PAS.
Currently, Ilan Şor, definitively sentenced to prison in the case of bank fraud by the justice system in Chisinau, is hiding in Moscow. He is considered the main tool of the Kremlin in destabilizing the Republic of Moldova. He denies the allegations.
