The famous storks Gritsik and Odarka from the Piryatinsky National Natural Park have their first chicks. A 24-hour broadcast from the couple’s nest is conducted on the YouTube channel “Leleka Gritsko”, and the new addition to the family was reported on the Telegram channel “Leleka Gritsko’s Nest”.
The future addition to the stork family became known on May 18 at approximately 1.00. Then users of the online broadcast heard the squeak of the babies in the nest.
For a better view, park staff even brought the camera closer.
“A small beak is visible,” said the message posted at 3:34 a.m.
And already at about 7.00 Gritsik heard the squeak of the stork for the first time.
The star couple's first chick hatched after lunch.
“Meet the firstborn! On May 18 at 16.42 Lelevich hatched,” they wrote on the Telegram channel.
And at 18.38 the second chick was born.
Traditionally, the names of newborn storks are chosen by subscribers. The right to name the chicks is given to users who donated the largest amount to the collection for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The first two chicks were given the names Lelevich and Machaon.
The description of the Telegram channel also indicated that Odarka laid her first egg on April 13. In total, by April 21, five eggs appeared in the nest.
