The Leningrad region of the aggressor country Russia is being attacked by drones. The governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko, announced this on Telegram.
He claimed to have shot down at least 86 UAVs. As usual, he did not mention the destruction of objects. Only after the alarm was declared in the region did he warn about a possible decrease in the speed of mobile Internet.
The monitoring public Supernova+ wrote that the Kronstadt naval base, in particular the cadet corps, was probably under attack.
The channel collected photos and videos of local residents talking about attacks on the region (caution, profanity).
“Fuck it. I f… know him already. God forbid you catch mine,” an eyewitness comments on the drone flying over his house. He also adds that he flew to St. Petersburg.
The Russian publication Astra wrote that a key enterprise for the creation of underwater weapons, the Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering, located in Lomonosov, near St. Petersburg, could be under attack.
“The Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering (Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering) is a defense research and design center specializing in the development of torpedo weapons and power plants for underwater weapons of the Navy. The institute was created in 1948 as a specialized center for the development of long-range thermal torpedoes for the Soviet Navy,” the statement says.
Among the areas of activity of the research institute, the publication named the implementation of a range of works from scientific research and design to full-scale land and sea tests of torpedoes and torpedo systems, the creation of torpedo power plants with open, closed and combined operating cycles based on gas turbine and piston engines, the creation and operation of specialized equipment for land and sea tests of torpedoes, underwater power plants and their subsystems, the development, manufacture and supply of automated small-sized boiler units (AMCU) for production, technological and heating purposes.
“The Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering is one of the key enterprises of the Russian school of naval underwater weapons. Historically, the institute’s products in terms of range and speed were considered one of the most advanced in the Soviet fleet,” Astra summarized.
Supernova+ also wrote about what is “alarming” in Lomonosov.
Previously, the media suggested that the attack could have been carried out on the Kronstadt Naval Cadet Military Corps, subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Also, according to Supernova+, Ust-Labinsk in the Krasnodar Territory was attacked at night; previously, an oil depot was hit.
“This is some kind of Komsomol fire,” the channel captioned photographs from the scene of the event.
