King Charles III of the United Kingdom called on NATO allies to demonstrate the same unity that allies showed after the terrorist attack on the United States on September 11, 2001. He stated this during a speech at a joint meeting of both houses of the US Congress. A fragment dedicated to Ukraine was published on the social network X.
He, in particular, recalled that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks committed on September 11, 2001. According to the king, then NATO demonstrated true unity by applying Art. 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty to respond to terrorists.
After a short ovation from representatives of the Republican and Democratic parties, Charles III added: “Today, the same unshakable unity is needed to protect Ukraine and its brave people” (after this remark from the monarch, some of the Republicans remained in their seats, while the Democrats gave a standing ovation).
