The perpetrator of a fatal accident with a school bus in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory received 6 years in prison (video)

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Minusinsk court found a 33-year-old resident of Abakan guilty in an accident with a car and a school buswhich resulted in the death of a woman.

Let us remind you that everything happened on January 14, 2026 at 34 km of the Sayany highway. A PAZ with 13 teenagers was returning from Minusinsk to Tes, and several cars were moving towards it. One of them, a red Toyota Auris, was driven by a 38-year-old veterinarian. The Ford Kuga driver who was driving behind her decided to take a risky overtake – having violated traffic rules, he drove into oncoming traffic, and when he saw a school bus on it, he tried to return to his lane, but caught the car in the rear left part and “carried out” it directly under the groove.

“The car was pressed under the bus, the female driver died on the spot,” the prosecutor’s office said. — There were ninth-graders on board the bus, who were taken in an organized manner to the military registration and enlistment office for registration. They were fastened, and the bus itself was technically sound, moving at a permitted speed of about 50 km/h, with a flashing light and low beam headlights on. This did not save him from the impact, but helped avoid mass death: one student received a moderate leg injury, and another suffered bruises. The rest were treated on the spot. An experienced bus driver with 20 years of experience said that he saw a dangerous overtaking and slowed down, but did not make any sudden maneuvers with children in the cabin.”

The culprit of the accident fled, but was later detained. It turned out that over the past six months he received 18 fines for traffic violations and previously lost his license. In court, he admitted guilt and said that after the accident, remaining at the scene for 15–20 minutes, he called 112, saw a wrecked car and a woman inside, and when the ambulance arrived, he “got confused and drove away.”

According to paragraph “b” of Part 4 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the court sentenced the driver of the crossover to 6 years of imprisonment to be served in a penal colony and deprived of his license for 2 years. The claim in favor of the deceased’s child in the amount of 1.5 million rubles was also satisfied. The man has already paid the family 500 thousand rubles in compensation for moral damage.
