Russian schoolchildren will have 5 more days of rest. The change will affect all grades except 9th and 11th, TASS reports, citing an expert from the Ministry of Education, director of the Moscow State Pedagogical University Lyceum Igor Yakimov.
Summer holidays for students non-graduating classes will begin with May 27. This is due to the fact that the Russian Ministry of Education needs to prepare examination reception points (EPS).
“Summer holidays in 2026 for students in non-graduate classes will begin on May 27. This year, the Russian Ministry of Education recommended ending the school year on May 26 in order to prepare the PPE (exam reception point) in schools in a timely manner. According to the schedule, the start of exams this year is also set for no earlier than June 1,” said Ministry of Education expert Igor Yakimov.
