“Monkeys” in the deposit system? The deputy minister announced the date

In an interview with RMF FM radio, the deputy minister admitted that the logistic giant, which is the nationwide packaging collection, requires constant adjustments.

— When it comes to the deposit system, I feel like I delivered, but that doesn't mean there aren't things that can be improved. We have meetings with operators to repair the system. We carry out inspections of large stores, we want these inspections to contribute to improving the system, she explained on air.
The above-mentioned inspections are currently carried out by the Provincial Inspectorates of Environmental Protection (WIOŚ). At the same time, the ministry is putting pressure on system operators to eliminate errors on an ongoing basis and improve the collection of raw materials from commercial establishments.

One of the most important declarations of the politician was the issue of extending the system to include further waste fractions. Fans of ecology and opponents of abandoning small alcohol bottles in public spaces will have to be patient.
Inclusion in the deposit system the so-called monkeys and other glass packaging is a huge logistical challenge. According to Anita Sowińska's announcement, this process will take up to two years, which means that they will be collected in 2028 at the earliest.

Thousands of bottles in Krakow and a charity

Poles see the sense of the deposit system
The Deputy Minister expressed great gratitude to all people who are involved in collecting and returning packaging to stores. She referred to the latest public opinion research conducted by one of the operators, Zwrotka.
Data show that ecological awareness in the country is growing – as much as 63 percent respondents notice the real environmental effect of the deposit deposit system. Poles are increasingly understanding the idea of a circular economy, in which a donated can or bottle does not become garbage, but a valuable raw material for the production of new packaging.
