The scandal of the votes given to Romania at Eurovision extends to the Republic of Moldova. The Minister of Culture intervenes: “Unintelligible”

The Minister of Culture from the Republic of Moldova, Cristian Jardan, says that the institution he leads has no direct connection with the organization of Eurovision and that “we need explanations” why the jury gave Romania only three points.

“I want it to be understood that the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova has no direct connection with the organization of Eurovision in Moldova. We supported the organizers as much as possible and yes, we all need explanations, especially after such a vote of the public from the Republic of Moldova,” Jardan wrote in a Facebook comment.

In another message, he congratulates Satoshi, the representative of the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision, and Alexandra Căpitănescu, the representative of Romania:

“Congratulations, Romania and Alexandra Căpitănescu for the podium! A wonderful performance appreciated at the highest level by the public from the Republic of Moldova, the only one of the 28 countries participating in the final that gave the Romanian performer maximum score.

The jury's vote from the Republic of Moldova is incomprehensible, totally different from what the public voted for.

Moldova, Romania, Vlad, Alexandra – you conquered us! Thank you!”.

The reaction of the Minister of Culture comes after the jury from the Republic of Moldova awarded only 3 points to Romania's play, which in the end, ranked 3rd.
