According to the Ukrainian military, as a result of the attack, the AVT-3, AVT-4, AT-6 primary oil refining units, as well as a diesel fuel hydrotreating unit, were damaged as a result of the attack. The General Staff called these elements the main ones in the refinery’s production cycle, since they ensure the processing of crude oil into fuel products.
“The Ryazan Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation and is involved in providing fuel to the Russian occupation forces,” the statement says.
In addition to the attack on the oil refinery, the defense forces also hit other Russian military installations. In particular, on the night of May 16, the control points of Russian troops in the Pokrovsk area and the UAV control point in Grafskoye in the Donetsk region were destroyed or damaged. A hangar with military equipment in Selidovo was also hit.
In addition, attacks were carried out on logistics warehouses in Baranikovka, Luhansk region, a repair unit in Privolye, Kherson region, as well as places where enemy personnel were concentrated in several areas of Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
The General Staff added that the defense forces continue systematic actions to reduce the military potential of the Russian Federation.
