Governor Mikhail Kotyukov took part in planting trees on the Memory Alley in Tatyshev Park together with participants of the Siberian Character program. The press service of the regional government said that participants in the program proposed to the head of the region to perpetuate the memory of Krasnoyarsk residents – fighters of a special military operation – at a citywide cleanup in April.

The alley was founded in 1995 in memory of military personnel who died in the line of duty. Now its length is about 220 meters, there are 69 trees and 52 memorial plaques with the names of the victims. Planting 22 Siberian apple tree seedlings is the first step towards renovating the alley.

The landscaping project was developed by students of the Siberian Federal University Institute of Architecture and Design. They proposed turning the memorial into a modern public space where memory coexists with comfort.

“We wanted this alley to become a full-fledged recreational space where it would be convenient to spend time. We want to attract the attention of young people – for this we need comfortable conditions. Each tree will have its own plaque, which will carry its own story for each family and each hero. At the end of the alley, we designed a large dominant – a place where you can retire, sit, relax and remember,” explained Diana Fofonova, a 3rd year student at the SFU Institute of Architecture and Design.

They plan to install modern lighting, comfortable benches and resurface the paths along the alley. Instead of old signs, new ones will be installed – with the history of each hero. The issue of creating an interactive all-season location is currently being explored.

“For the participants of the “Siberian Character”, this is a very personal story: the renovated alley will become a place of memory of comrades in arms, will remind Krasnoyarsk residents of the fortitude of our fellow countrymen and the military brotherhood of the defenders of the Fatherland,” said Mikhal Kotyukov.

Let us remind you that the personnel program “Siberian Character” started on February 23, 2025. It became an addition to the federal project “Time of Heroes”, the task of which is to create a qualified management corps from among the participants in a special military operation. After completing the training, graduates can work in government agencies, municipal institutions, state corporations, party structures, and military-patriotic organizations.
