Bulgaria decides where to host Eurovision 2027. Seaside city bids to host: 'We'll do our best to make everything perfect'

Burgas has officially entered the Eurovision 2027 host city discussion following Bulgaria's historic victory in Vienna. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov has publicly stated that the seaside city wants to host the competition, although Sofia is seen as the main favourite, Novinite notes.
“I know that Sofia would be an excellent host, but I declare the categorical desire of Burgas to host Eurovision. We will do our best to make it perfect. And so it will be,” Nikolov wrote on Facebook.
Talks about the host city started immediately after Bulgaria achieved its first Eurovision victory. In a press conference held in Vienna, the general director of the Bulgarian National Television, Milena Milotinova, said that Sofia is preparing for the possibility of organizing the event next year. According to Eurovision rules, the winning country gets the right to host the next edition, but the final decision on the host city is made separately and does not automatically rest with the capital.
Varna, Dara's hometown, has also entered public discussions, although local authorities have not officially announced a candidacy.
Before the grand finale, the mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, publicly expressed his support for the artist.
“Varna supports its people. Dara represents not only Bulgaria, but also the spirit and energy of a new generation of Bulgarian talents,” the mayor said.
Metropolitan Nahum of Ruse, for his part, congratulated the artist after the victory.
Bulgarian Culture Minister Evtim Milosev praised the singer, her creative team and Bulgarian National Television, saying the success would significantly increase international attention to contemporary Bulgarian culture. He described the Eurovision victory as “a fantastic and unforgettable night” and emphasized that such achievements unite Bulgarians at home and abroad.
And Prime Minister Rumen Radev reacted shortly after the victory, calling it “a Bulgarian victory with global resonance”.
In a Facebook post, he wrote that Dara had overcome “all calculations and prejudices related to voting” through talent and professionalism.
“Dara is yet another proof that Bulgaria can win. Bulgaria is waiting for Europe and the world at Eurovision 2027,” the prime minister added.
