The PNL meeting, on the television screens. Reality TV calls out 'parallel state' meddling

The meeting of the PNL leadership is the topic of the day for the Romanian news stations, the topic being treated in different ways, according to the reports on the TV channels, analyzed by Pagina de Media.

The reportedly tense meeting of liberal leaders was breaking news on the news stations.

Reality TV also sees the involvement of the “parallel state”, according to a used bulletin: “The parallel state, strings so that Bolojan does not resign”.

Romania TV used the phrase “momentul rafuielii”, also used on other occasions, against the former prime minister:

  • “The news takes 35 votes from PNL: Bolojan is desperate”.
  • “Fix as in PCR: Bolojan wants to exclude Veştea from the party”

Antena 3 used a more sober wording on the newspaper: “The decisive meeting of the liberals, huge tensions in the party.”

Digi 24 alternated two headlines: “Bolojan and Veştea, face to face after accusations of treason” and “Veştea, appointed without the consent of the PNL”.

The PNL leadership met on Monday afternoon in a meeting of the National Political Bureau to discuss the party's position regarding the support of the prime minister appointed to form the Adrian Veștea government. The nomination of Veștea was made by the president Nicușor Dan without consulting the parliamentary parties.

During the meeting, Ilie Bolojan asked for a vote to reconfirm the fact that PNL will no longer enter into government with PSD. The reconfirmation was approved with 39 votes in favor, ten against and five abstentions.
