Weather alerts for half of the country. Torrential rain forecast until tomorrow

Meteorologists issued two storm weather warnings for half of the territory on Saturday.

A Code Orange Warning for Quantitatively Significant Downpours is in effect Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 PM and is in effect until Sunday, May 17 at 10:00 AM.

According to the meteorologists, in this interval, there will be periods of quantitatively significant torrential downpours in the counties of Vâlcea, Argeş, Dâmboviţa and in the mountain area of ​​the counties of Gorj and Prahova. In short time intervals (3 hours) or through accumulation, the water quantities will be locally 40…60 l/m2 and isolated 70 l/m2.

At the same time, the south of Crişana, Banat, Oltenia, most of Muntenia and south-west Transylvania are under a yellow code warning of accentuated atmospheric instability, quantitatively significant torrential downpours, hail, electrical discharges, intensification of wind and gales.

The warning is valid from May 16, from 12 noon until May 17, at 10 am.
