I add 2 drops to the night cream and my face is as fresh as after a salon: a cheap life hack

Store-bought cream does not always live up to expectations. If the manufacturer skimps on active ingredients, the skin remains dry, dull, and lifeless. Don't rush to throw away the jar. You can improve the composition yourself by adding useful ingredients.

What to add to a budget face cream

Oils for nutrition

Expert Oksana, author of the blog “Soap Maker” (18+), adds macadamia or sesame oil to her creams. Literally 2-3 drops per single serving is enough. Oils nourish, soften and create a protective film. The main thing is not to overfill, otherwise the product will become greasy and poorly absorbed.

Drainage and toning supplements

If you are prone to swelling, choose assets with a drainage effect: caffeine, green tea, pomegranate or green coffee extracts. Raspberry or lemon extracts are added for tone and freshness.

These components trigger microcirculation, remove morning swelling and restore the skin to a healthy appearance.

Vitamin bomb

The easiest way to enrich the cream is liquid vitamin E (tocopherol). It is a powerful antioxidant that slows down aging and moisturizes. Add 1-2 drops per serving. You cannot pour the entire ampoule into a jar – the product will spoil.

Small portion rule

All additives are mixed not in a common container, but in a small “travel jar” for 2–3 uses. This approach allows you to test the composition on your wrist and make sure it fits. Also, oils in a large jar may go rancid before the cream runs out.

“I add a drop of sesame oil and vitamin E to my day cream – the skin stopped flaking, a glow appeared. I removed morning swelling with green tea extract, mix it directly in a small jar for three days. I pour a portion, it does not spoil. It’s very convenient that you don’t need to buy expensive creams – just improve the usual one,” shares Elena from Samara.
