Tehran signals readiness to resume negotiations

According to reports, The Iranian authorities were to convey to Arab -intermediaries that they would gladly return to negotiations, unless the US joins Israeli attacks. Iran was also to inform Israel that the conflict escalation is in the interest of both sides.
As “WSJ” writes, despite this, because of the Israeli military advantage and the limited effects of Iranian counterattacks, Tel Aviv does not have the desire to stop surgery. According to expert analysis, the previous actions have not yet brought strategic effects, which may lead Israel to continue bombing for at least two weeks.
Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu declares that the purpose of the offensive is to completely destroy Iranian nuclear and rocket abilities. He announced that the operation would last until these goals were achieved. At the same time, he emphasized that he was not planning to overthrow the Iranian authorities – although he admitted, this may be an unintentional side effect of Israeli actions. There is currently no signals from Netanyahu indicating the desire to stop the campaign.

Iran wants a guarantee of the lack of US involvement
As “WSJ” writes, according to Iranian officials, Israel may have difficulties in achieving goals without direct US support, especially when it comes to an attack on strongly protected objects such as Uranium enrichment plant in Fordo. In Tehran's opinion, it would be a success if American bombs penetrating deep underground were not used in the raids.
“The Iranians are aware that the US supports Israel in defensive and logistics activities. But they want to guarantee that the Americans will not join the attacks” – says one of the Arab officials quoted by “WSJ”.
Tehran also warned that if there is no real perspective of resumption of talks with the United States, he could not only speed up his nuclear program, but also extend the range of war.

Middle East. The region's countries are worried
At the same time, the Persian Gulf – Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman – intensify efforts to convince the US to put pressure on Israel to stop the fights. According to them, further escalation can lead to the extension of the conflict to the entire region, which would threaten the key energy infrastructure and had far -reaching effects on oil markets and the global economy.
The Reuters agency confirms that Iran has asked the same countries for mediation in talks with US President Donald Trump, asking for pressure on Tel Aviv regarding the suspension of weapons.
Trump admitted on Sunday that in his opinion “there is a great chance” for an agreement between Israel and Iran. At the same time, he assured him of further support for Israel, but he did not want to reveal whether he talked to the Israeli authorities about the suspension of raids. He also did not refer to the rumors that he opposed the plans of killing the spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Chamenei.
