Union Slobozia was rejected in the licensing process for the next season of the Super League, a decision upheld both in the first instance and by the Appeal Commission of the Romanian Football Federation. The club contested the decision at the Sports Arbitration Court (TAS), but the situation remains complicated for the people of Ialomi.
Mihai Stoica, the FCSB official, commented on the situation of the team from Slobozia and its chances of obtaining the license at TAS. Unirea Slobozia currently occupy the play-off spot, level on points with Hermannstadt, and are still on their toes in the fight to avoid relegation. However, if the people from Ialomi fail to receive the license, the position in the ranking becomes irrelevant, and the club would be relegated.
MM Stoica, skeptical about the TAS decision: “I understand that they don't have a license and are struggling for nothing”
Mihai Stoica stated that it is hard for him to believe that the decision of the Federation will be returned to the CAS, although the club claims that it has new arguments in the file.
“I understand they are unlicensed and struggling for nothing. They still hope to get from TAS what they didn't get from the Federation. But I find it hard to believe that the TAS will turn against the Federation… From what I spoke with President Lemnaru, he would have new evidence on file.
It's about the academy score. They didn't score there. But there is a big problem. I say that I know very well. There are clubs that are not controlled as they should be and that score at the academy in the chapters they should not score at“, said Mihai Stoica, according to fanatik.ro.

Similar situation at FC Bihor
A similar case was also registered at FC Bihor Oradea, a League 2 club, which did not receive the license for the Super League.
The team from Oradea had its file rejected by the Licensing Commission of the FRF, due to failure to fulfill a condition in the regulation regarding the registration of a U15 female team in competitions. The decision practically removed the team from the race for promotion in the first echelon of Romanian football.
