Mohamed Simakan's first-half goal brought Al Nassr to the brink of celebrating the title. Then, Bento, the team's goalkeeper, let the ball slip from his hands after a throw from the sideline, directly into the net, in the eighth minute of overtime.
When the tie did happen, the frustration was too much for many supporters. Verbal banter between the fans quickly turned into physical fistfights. On social media, fans claimed that Al Hilal supporters attacked Al Nassr's VIP section by throwing sticks.
However, the official Saudi General Security account later confirmed that the fans who instigated the brawl had been arrested. They posted on X: “Riyadh region police, in coordination with the (Ministry of Sports), detain several people for a fight with each other at a sports event and send them to the Prosecutor's Office”according to sportal.blic.rs.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who was substituted in the 83rd minute, looked despondent on the bench after the game, visibly emotional after such an outcome.
Al Nassr currently has 83 points, 5 points more than Al Hilal, who have a game in hand. Cristiano Ronaldo's side can win the trophy if they beat Damac on May 20, or if Al Hilal fail to beat Neom on May 16.
