Former international Dănuț Lupu (59 years old) commented the separation between Dinamo and Croatian coach Zeljko Kopic. The former midfielder of the “dogs” claims that he expected this move and believes that the technician chose to leave after reaching his limits at the club from “Ștefan cel Mare”.

Dinamo announced on Friday the end of the collaboration with Zeljko Kopic, the coach who sat on the bench of the formation of “Ștefan cel Mare” for the last three years and who was one of the key people in the reconstruction of the club.

Dănuț Lupu, about Kopic's departure: “He couldn't do more than he did in these two years”

Lupu stated on the “Liga Digi Sport” show that he had been expecting the departure of Zeljko Kopic from Dinamo for a long time and considers that the Croatian coach's decision is a natural one, considering the offer received and the results obtained in “Štefan cel Mare”.

“About two months ago, I said that Kopic would leave. It came true, unfortunately. I also had some information and feelingbut in the end every coach wants to win something, a championship, a cup, and I agree with him.

More than he had done in these two years he could not do. I also saw the offer he has and I think no one would have refused.”

“However, for two years he was chosen “Coach of the Year”, so it means something. I don't know what will happen next for Dinamo. I think, I'm sorry to say it, but I think they will have a very difficult year. New coach, new players.”

Lupu, about the promises made to Kopic: “When you promise a coach, you have to bring him something”

Finally, the former international also commented on the information according to which dissatisfaction with transfers would have contributed to Kopic's departure. Lupu claims that promises were made to the technician in the past, but they must be supported by facts.

“And last year he was promised players… You know the problem? When you promise a coach, you have to make sure you get him something. It's Dinamo Bucharest and it's an emergency hospital, it must be a football team, not a sanatorium. I have nothing to do with them, nor with Mazilu.

Any coach who comes to a team will change the style of play, it will take them 3-4 months, and in 3-4 months we are already in the winter and it will be difficult.”
