Almost 4 tons of fern will be sent from Krasnoyarsk to Kazakhstan

Krasnoyarsk specialists checked 3.4 tons of fern shoots, which were prepared for shipment to Kazakhstan. The research was carried out in the laboratory of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “TsK Agroindustrial Complex”.
Since the beginning of the year, the institution has received four product samples. Experts checked the fern for compliance with the phytosanitary requirements of the recipient country.
“This year we received four samples of fern shoots for research to establish the phytosanitary condition of the products. Entomological and herbological tests were carried out for the presence of pests and weeds,” noted Anastasia Alekseeva, chief specialist of the quarantine department of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Central Clinical Center for the Agro-Industrial Complex”.
Based on the research results, all products meet the necessary requirements. The customer was issued conclusions on the quarantine phytosanitary state of regulated products.
Different types of ferns grow in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Local residents and enterprises are engaged in their procurement and processing. Fern is considered one of the regional products of the region and is valued not only in Russia, but also abroad. Before sale and export, it is tested in an accredited laboratory.
For comparison, in 2025, experts examined 2.9 tons of fern shoots. The most common species is the common bracken. Its young shoots are used in cooking, especially in oriental cuisine. They taste like porcini mushrooms. Fern is salted, pickled, dried, vacuum packed, and also stewed, fried, frozen and added to salads. The product contains vitamins and microelements.
