Scientists have created two natural antibiotics based on the extract – “Populin with dihydroquercetin” and “Tremulacin”. Clinical trials conducted by the Center for Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor showed that new drugs significantly reduce the frequency and duration of relapses of herpesvirus infections type 1 and 2, RIA Tomsk reports.

According to WHO statistics, in 2024, every fifth person of reproductive age in the world was a carrier of herpes. The disease occupies a leading place among viral infections due to its widespread distribution and chronic course.
