In two municipal districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory – Sharypovsky and Bogotolsky – a high alert regime was introduced. The corresponding decree was signed by the chairman of the regional government, Alexey Medvedev.
The basis for the decision was an outbreak of pasteurellosis in livestock in the neighboring Kemerovo region. The high alert regime is intended to prevent the import of infected animals and products of animal origin into the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
As part of the regime, a 24-hour mobile veterinary control post will operate on the R-255 Siberia highway:
“Specialists will examine the animals and check the accompanying veterinary documents. If a disease is suspected, they will conduct a clinical examination, sampling and epidemiological investigation. If violations are detected, the movement of cargo will be stopped and the products will be returned to the place of departure,” the regional government reported.
Let us remember that pasteurellosis is an acute bacterial infectious disease that can affect both animals and humans. It is characterized by fever, general intoxication, inflammation of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, joints, bones and internal organs.
