Every third Russian considers impulsive purchases on marketplaces to be a bad habit. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the research* “Vyberu.ru”.

According to analysts, such unplanned expenses cost Russians an average of 11.2 thousand rubles per month. The median figure was 8.5 thousand rubles. Most often, impulse purchases are made by young people under 25 years of age. In this group, 46% of respondents reported such a habit. Among Russians aged 26 to 34, the figure was 38%, and among people over 45 it dropped to 19%.

More than half of the study participants admitted that they understand the redundancy of such expenses and periodically try to reduce them. At the same time, more than a quarter of respondents feel guilty after shopping, but do not change their behavior.

Among those who have tried to fight excess spending, some use financial planning and limits. Others are temporarily giving up shopping, deleting marketplace apps, or choosing cheaper methods of consumption.

The study involved 3 thousand Russians aged 18 to 60 years. The purpose of the survey was to identify the most common patterns of unnecessary spending.
