The ex-governor of the Kirov region Nikita Belykh was acquitted in the case of abuse…

Former governor of the Kirov region Nikita Belykh was acquitted of abuse of power. At the meeting, his lawyers said: he did not study housing law in universities, so he could not know how to commit fraud in this area.
At the end of December 2023, the court sentenced Belykh, previously convicted of bribery, to 2.5 years in prison. But he was released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. Later, the prosecution and defense filed appeals. The ex-governor himself declared that he was innocent. During the debate, he called the accusation “absurd.”
Belykh was released from prison in early June. Immediately after this, he went to his mother in Perm.
