The Minister of Economy discussed joint projects with Ukraine in the field of digitization in Kyiv: “We are inspired by successful models”
The interim Minister of Economy, Digitization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Irineu Darău, announces that he discussed concrete projects for cooperation in the field of digitization with his Ukrainian counterparts during a recent visit to Kiev.
“We are consolidating the digital partnership with Ukraine. We are inspired by the successful models regarding digitization. I am very motivated to quickly propagate good practices in Romania as well. Ukraine is one of the regional leaders in digital transformation and a reliable partner of Romania,” wrote Minister Irineu Darău on Facebook on Sunday.
He states that he recently visited Kiev, having an extended meeting with the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in Ukraine and with the representatives of institutions in the field of digitization.
The minister was accompanied by the Ambassador of Romania to Ukraine, Alexandru Victor Micula, and the diplomatic adviser Bogdan Ciprian Păcurari.
Projects discussed
“The discussions were consistent and oriented towards results”, stated Darău, specifying that important joint projects were addressed:
AI & State Agency: “Our hosts presented their solutions, including Diia AI and the concept of a large-scale national language model. We analyzed the opportunities for collaboration and the integration of artificial intelligence in public services.”
Cyber security and infrastructure: “We discussed protection against cyber attacks and the development of cross-border fiber optic connections, including the Black Sea submarine cable project.”
GovTech & Education: “We analyzed initiatives such as GovTechLab and CDTO Campus, which support collaboration between the government and tech companies, as well as the training of a new generation of specialists in digital transformation.”
“I thank the Ukrainian partners for the open and constructive dialogue. We inspire and learn from each other, to strengthen national and European resilience. We continue the work”, concludes Minister Irineu Darău.
