The Russian North is dying out due to alcohol, so its sale in the Vologda region will be limited on weekdays to 2 hours during lunch – from 12:00 to 14:00
The head of the Vologda region, Georgy Filimonov, explained the law limiting the retail sale of alcohol to a colossal decline in the population in the region and added that the Vologda region and the Russian North are dying out.
Over the year, the incidence of alcoholism in the region increased by 30%, and the population decreased by 7.5 thousand inhabitants.
