The illegitimate president of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is allegedly ready to meet with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, but only in Moscow. Putin's assistant Yuri Ushakov stated this on May 9 and was quoted by the Russian propaganda agency Interfax.
This is not the first time that the Kremlin has announced that the meeting could allegedly take place in Moscow. Kyiv has rejected Moscow as a venue for potential negotiations. Back in February, the head of the Ukrainian state said that he was ready to meet with the Russian delegation, but on neutral territory.
“If he [Зеленский] if he wants, please let him call Moscow. We are ready to accept and negotiate,” Ushakov said.
This statement was commented on by Sergei Leshchenko, adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, on the Mi-Ukraine TV channel.
“Moscow is the capital of the aggressor country. This format of negotiations is impossible,” Leshchenko said.
