This is the only way I store carrots – the root vegetable remains crisp for two weeks: no lethargy, no mold

It's no secret that carrots quickly lose their elasticity in the refrigerator. After just a couple of days in the vegetable drawer, it becomes soft, flabby or covered with a white coating. It’s especially annoying if you bought a large bag or grew the crop yourself.

There is an easy way to keep carrots juicy, sweet and ready for soups and salads for a long time.

Before storing, clean the root vegetables from dirt and cut off the tops, if any. Dry the carrots completely with a paper towel. Then put it in a plastic container and fill it with cold water so that it completely covers the vegetables. Close the lid and put it in the refrigerator. Water will prevent moisture from evaporating from root vegetables.

Place the container on the middle shelf of the refrigerator. This way the carrots remain firm, bright and sweet even after 10-14 days. Change the water every 3-4 days for freshness.

Try it and you will stop throwing out limp root vegetables every three days.
