In Krasnoyarsk on the morning of May 9, festive events began in honor of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
At 09:00 the holiday opened with the ceremonial raising of a copy of the Victory Banner on the square in front of the city administration building. At the same time, the traditional citywide athletics relay started on the Central Yenisei embankment. And at 10:00 Krasnoyarsk residents will gather on the square near the Victory Memorial Museum, where a solemn meeting and a ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal Flame are taking place.
The main celebrations this year will take place on the right bank. Exactly at 12:00 on the avenue named after the newspaper “Krasnoyarsk Worker” at the memorial “Krasnoyarsk – City of Labor Valor” a festive procession will begin. Immediately after this, at 13:30, the all-Russian action “Immortal Regiment” starts from the same point.
The cultural program will continue on the left bank. Victory Day will end at 22:00 with a large-scale fireworks display, which will be launched simultaneously from two barges on the Yenisei.
