Former party colleague, harsh message to the “lonely bulldozer” Nicușor Dan: “MAGA is in Mercury retrograde”

The former head of the National Environmental Guard, Octavian Berceanu, published on Thursday an extremely critical message to President Nicușor Dan, against the backdrop of the political crisis generated by the fall of the Ilie Bolojan government through a no-confidence motion.

Berceanu characterizes Dan as a “lone bulldozer” and considers that the head of state cannot solve the political equation after the dismissal of the Cabinet by Parliament, suggesting that behind the president are forces such as PSD, AUR and the secret services.

“President Nicușor Dan blinked twice. He also blinked in the USR at the Referendum for the Family, when he was positioned on the sidelines and directed on the escalators of politics. The guys appreciated that the bulldozer tenacity of ND (Nicușor Dan, nr) is a valuable asset when you set its speed, direction and feed it,” wrote the former head of the Environmental Guard, in a post on the page his Facebook.

“The President blinked twice”

Berceanu also suggests that no important achievements can be identified in the political career of Nicușor Dan:

• “The bulldozer work with the Save Bucharest Association (ASB) remained with the dissolution of ASB.
• The work of his reign in USB/USR ended with the overnight reception of the Barna-Ghinea-Drula-Moșteanu grouping and several other eternal parliamentarians on the parliamentary lists, the hostile takeover of the party and the departure of all the original members, including ND. He built a small political bulldozer initially pushed by hundreds of thousands of people, but run for ten years by a ruling family. In the same way, Cioloș and Lasconi were pushed up the stairs, not being members of the family.
• The work at PMB remained buried and literally invisible, without being able to put your finger on anything.“

Both Octavian Berceanu and Nicușor Dan were part of USR, the latter being the founder and former president of the formation. Both left the formation, Octavian Berceanu moving in the meantime to REPER, where he won the leadership of the party, but resigned after less than a week.

Octavian Berceanu and Nicușor Dan were members of USR in the same period, between August 2016 and June 2017.

Berceanu remained in USR after 2017, later becoming head of the Environmental Guard (2021) from this party.
