The president of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (Gold), George Simion, announces that he met on Tuesday, with Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the US representatives from Florida, representative of the Republican Party, in the context of the official visit of an American delegation in Romania, informs News.ro.

During the discussions, the Gold leader presented the serious situation regarding the annulment of the presidential elections in Romania, says gold in a statement. “I made sure that the Republicans present these days in Romania know everything about the blow to democracy. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (Florida), a true freedom fighter,” said George Simion, at the end of the meeting.

The American delegation that discussed on Tuesday with President Ilie Bolojan asked what was happening in December, when Romania decided to cancel the presidential elections, and was satisfied with the answers received, political sources said. The members of the delegation have not expressed concerns about any problems regarding the elections in May, says the Romanian side. At the end of the discussion, US officials did not offer any statement on election cancellation.

The quoted sources have cataloged the discussion between the delegation made up of eight members of the US Congress, Democrats and Republicans, and Romanian President Ilie Bolojan as “an extremely good one, and US representatives had a warm and open attitude”.

“It was an extremely hot, welcome meeting, in which congressmen from the two parties and parliamentarians in Romania we discussed what is closer,” said Daniel Suciu, vice -president of the Chamber of Deputies.
