Bolojan says that Grindeanu has “two possibilities”. “We can no longer work with such people”

“The PNL has decided, we can no longer work with such people,” said Ilie Bolojan, the prime minister dismissed by the PSD-AUR motion of censure, launching new criticisms of the PSD leadership, which he claims bears “total responsibility for this crisis.”
In the Observator show on Antena 1, on Wednesday, a day after the motion, the PNL leader declared that “AUR and PSD proved that if they had a majority to demolish a government, it means they have a majority to be able to form a government”.
“They have two possibilities. To come up with a solution, if they have demolished. Very good if they have a solution, we need governments to keep the balance, to work. If they don't have a solution, then at least have the decency to say, “we don't have a solution, we leave it to others”, said Ilie Bolojan.
The liberal claims that “total responsibility for this crisis lies with the Social Democratic Party and the people who lead this party” and said that PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu must show “responsibility and decency”.
“I know a lot of people from the Social Democratic Party, honest people, honest people, who do their job, at the town halls where they are, at the county councils, in the Parliament, but who had to align themselves with this decision made by people from the PSD leadership. These people, including Mr. Grindeanu, must have the responsibility and decency, if they still demolished a government, to come and say, “look, this is our solution”” assume this”, continued Ilie Bolojan.
Bolojan: I spoke with Nicușor Dan before the motion
The deposed prime minister stated that he spoke with the head of state before Tuesday's motion, but that after that no further discussions took place between them.
“I spoke with him before the censure motion and, certainly, there will be consultations in the coming days and we will discuss (…). From the motion until now, I have not discussed with him (…). In the coming days, I understand that there will be these consultations”, added Ilie Bolojan.
He reiterated that “the departure of a man or a government does not solve the problems” facing Romania, from “large deficits” to the fact that “the European economy is in a stagnation zone” and “today it no longer treats us.
“These problems remain. Now, of course, Romania needs a government that works, because we have several emergencies”, emphasized Ilie Bolojan.
Decisions made in the parties of the former coalition after the motion
On Tuesday evening, after the Bolojan Government was dismissed by the PSD-AUR motion of censure, the PNL leadership voted unanimously for the party to go into opposition. A group from the leadership, including Cătălin Predoiu, left the room before the vote.
The Liberals' meeting lasted over five hours. According to HotNews sources, the entry into the opposition was decided unanimously, with 50 votes, but four liberals did not vote.
USR also held a meeting on Tuesday evening, and the president of the party, Dominic Fritz, announced that the formation will continue to support Ilie Bolojan, and will have a discussion with the PNL leader “about how we can coordinate our steps in this crisis”.
The mandate with which the USR will go to the negotiations with Nicușor Dan, Fritz also said, is that “we will not be able to return to the negotiation table with the PSD. And two: we will tell him that we will coordinate very closely with the PNL to evaluate future options.”
PSD sources told HotNews that the Social Democrats are in no rush to make a decision on a governing formula and are “waiting for a few days for things to calm down.” On Wednesday, at Euronews, Sorin Grindeanu stated that the party is open to all forms in which it can continue the collaboration with the parties from the former coalition. Previously, in a statement to the Parliament, the general secretary of the PSD, Claudiu Manda, spoke about two options: resuming the coalition without Bolojan or going into the opposition of the PSD.
Nicușor Dan's announcement
On Tuesday evening, in his first motion statements, Nicușor Dan spoke about the upcoming consultations and said that “at the end of these procedures we will have a pro-Western government”.
“We will have a new government within a reasonable period of time. So, I exclude the scenario of early elections. And I emphasize: at the end of these procedures we will have a pro-Western government. We will calmly go through it,” said the president.
On Wednesday, Nicușor Dan started informal discussions with the heads of parties from the former coalition, according to TVR sources. Today, the head of state met with USR leader Dominic Fritz, according to political sources cited by Agerpres.
