The first poll in which Nicușor Dan drives in front of George Simion / What is the advance, according to IRSOP

Nicușor Dan leads George Simion with four percent in the voting intentions, according to an IRSOP survey and provided Hotnews. “Nicuşor Dan leads on increasing trend and will probably win the elections,” says IRSOP, who conducted a survey and almost a month before the first round, in which George Simion was credited with 31% of the voters in the country (he obtained 41%), and Nicușor Dan had a score of 28% (on May 4 he obtained 21%).

According to the new IRSOP poll, 52% of those interviewed said they would vote with the independent Nicușor Dan, and 48% with the gold leader, George Simion.

“These are the options calculated at the total of the people with probability that they will vote,” the institute says, and the vote presence is estimated by over 60%.

In the survey was asked the question “Would you prefer a leadership of Romania with Nicuşor Dan President and Ilie Bolojan Prime Minister or with George Simion President and Călin Georgescu Prime Minister?”.

A 51% majority chose the first variant.

Also the voters were asked “Between Nicuşor Dan and George Simion who do you think
that he will act in these directions? ”.

  • IRSOP: For this survey, 951 persons interviewed by telephone between 10-13 May 2025. The sample is representative for the population in Romania over 18 years old. The sampling tolerance is +/- 3.2% at a 95% confidence level. The survey represents a public information service fully funded by IRSOP.

On Tuesday, just 5 days before the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, the fight between George Simion and Nicușor Dan was as balanced as possible, according to an atlasinte opinion poll conducted for Hotnews.

The polling house correctly anticipated the result of the local elections in Bucharest, from last year, when Nicușor Dan won a new term of mayor, but in the last poll before the first round of the presidential, the atlastel rated on the gold leader at 30.2%, although he would win with almost 41%.

The gold candidate, George Simion, and the independent candidate Nicușor Dan were in perfect equality, each being rated by 48.2%, in the intention to vote for the second round of the presidential elections scheduled on May 18, shows the data of the Atlasintel opinion made for HotNews.
