In Ivano-Frankivsk, the construction industry is facing a labor shortage, so companies are forced to hire foreign workers. City Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv announced this on air at Apostrophe.
According to him, the shortage of personnel is due to the population moving abroad and mobilization.
“Given the shortage of personnel, the fact that many people have left, many have been mobilized, there is a serious shortage of workers,” Martsinkiv noted.
At the same time, according to him, more than 50 thousand people moved to Ivano-Frankivsk, which creates additional demand for housing.
“There is a demand for housing, and, accordingly, construction companies do not have enough workers,” he added.
Martsinkiv also said that companies have begun to attract foreign workers.
“I know that today there are migrants, in particular Indians, who work in construction companies. Unfortunately, this is a trend that is currently observed. There are objective and subjective reasons for this,” the mayor said.
At the same time, Martsinkiv noted that city authorities do not approve such decisions.
“I am personally opposed to attracting migrants to such work, but, obviously, every construction company or enterprise solves this issue from the opportunities that exist. Such facts have indeed been recorded for several months,” he emphasized.
