May 4 12:30

The XXIV International Festival of Chamber and Orchestral Music “Asia – Siberia – Europe” will be held in Krasnoyarsk from September 3 to 15. Musicians and composers from Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Germany and Turkey will take part in the festival.

The festival program includes arrangements of folk songs for string orchestra and quartet, works from the Baroque era, classical and modern music. This year, for the first time, musicians from Kyrgyzstan and Turkey will join the festival. The Esimde String Quartet will present both world classics and national repertoire.

The festival will be opened by Arkady Shilkloper, known as a virtuoso of the Alpine horn and horn. Organist Marianna Vysotskaya will perform with him, and Fabio Mastrangelo will conduct the concert.

The New Silk Road project will occupy a special place in the program. It will be presented by Turkish harpist Çağatay Akyol and Chinese performer Wu Wei, who plays the shen mouth organ. The organizers note that this combination of instruments creates a rare sound that has not previously been presented to the Krasnoyarsk public.

The festival will conclude with the world premiere of the work “Swan” by German composer Enjot Schneider. The work was written specifically for the festival and is inspired by the myths of Siberia, where the swan is considered a symbol connecting heaven, earth and water.

The festival is traditionally organized by the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra. The artistic director is Mikhail Benyumov, the director is Larisa Markosyan.
