Demonstration in support of Ilie Bolojan in front of the Government, two days before the motion

Several hundred people gathered on Sunday evening in Victoriei Square, at a demonstration in support of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, two days before the censure motion initiated by PSD and AUR was voted on in Parliament.
The mobilization for the protest was done on social networks, under slogans such as “we turn on the light” or “rat extermination”, according to News.ro.
Approximately 600 people were in Piața Victoriei until 19:00, Digi24 reported.
The participants came with Romanian flags and European Union flags and chanted, among other things, “PSD, a mess” and “Out of the pantry”.
Some of the demonstrators declared that they took to the streets to support Ilie Bolojan, while others said that they were protesting for the continuation of Romania's pro-European path and for “cleanliness” in the administration.
Demonstration also in Oradea
A demonstration of support for the prime minister also took place in Oradea, after the mayor of the municipality, Florin Birta, appealed to the residents of the city and Bihor county to participate in the event.
According to the local publication Bihoreanul, approximately 1,500 people took to the streets in support of Ilie Bolojan.
The censure motion will be voted on on May 5
The motion, signed by 254 parliamentarians, was submitted on Tuesday, after it was announced in a joint press conference by Marian Neacșu and Petrișor Peiu.
Also on Tuesday, the reunited permanent offices of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies decided the schedule for the debate and voting on the censure motion.
Thus, on Wednesday, at 12:30, the censure motion was read in the common plenary, and on Tuesday, May 5, it will be voted on.
If Ilie Bolojan does not pass the Parliament's vote, he remains interim, while negotiations to form a new majority and consultations with political parties begin at the Cotroceni Palace.
The leader of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, has stated several times that he wants to continue governing in a pro-European formula and that he rules out a coalition with the AUR.
“At this time, in the way things are set up, PSD announced that it does not form a majority with AUR. (…) There are things that divide us. That's why we talk about pro-European parties and anti-European parties,” Grindeanu said last week.
However, PNL and USR have voted, several times, that if PSD generates a political crisis, they will no longer form a majority with PSD.
