Rospotrebnadzor told how to safely go on a picnic

Rospotrebnadzor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory gave recommendations for outdoor recreation in the warm season, when the picnic season traditionally starts.

For outdoor dining without adverse health consequences, it must be properly organized. Thus, experts recommend buying food for a picnic only in stationary retail outlets, and not in spontaneous markets.

“A cooler bag is a must for transporting and storing perishable foods. But it is better to leave milk, smoked meats, pickled foods, cream confectionery and eggs at home – they are a breeding ground for microbes. Pack food tightly: containers with a tight lid and cling film will protect treats from insects, rodents and other animals that carry pathogenic microorganisms,” the department says.

It is also recommended to use different knives and cutting boards for raw foods and prepared foods.

In addition, in nature it is necessary to observe the rules of personal hygiene: be sure to wash your hands with soap before preparing and eating.

“For drinking, washing hands, food and dishes, use exclusively bottled or boiled water. Water from a river or spring, no matter how clear it may seem, is not an option. If something goes wrong and you feel unwell, don’t be a hero and don’t look for advice on the Internet. Contact a doctor immediately,” Rospotrebnadzor urged.
