Grzegorz Braun in Vilnius about the war with Russia. “We are being pushed into conflict”

– I encourage de-escalation, not escalation, because we cannot allow our nations to be pushed into this conflict – said Grzegorz Braun on Saturday at the Polishness Parade in Lithuania.

The MEP stated in an interview with LRT that, unlike the Polish and Lithuanian governments, he himself “incites peace.”

Grzegorz Braun clashed with a journalist. “Please don't push us under the truck”

When asked in this context about the actions of Russia and Belarus, the MEP criticized the journalist. — Why do I see you here, in Vilnius, and not on the Donetsk front? “Please hurry, please pour even more from your own pocket into the bottomless Ukrainian well,” he said.

— If you are so brave and so determined, please fight for these, in my opinion, false goals. Please do not push either Poles or Lithuanians under a truck full of rubble, said Grzegorz Braun.

Grzegorz Braun criticizes the Belarusian opposition. “Traveling Circus”

The leader of the Confederation of the Polish Crown also criticized Western support for the Belarusian opposition. — This so-called traveling circus with Mrs. Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki, is, in my opinion, a political project. I would not want people of questionable provenance to be presented in other capitals and presented as legitimate authorities, he noted.

— I try not to beat around the bush, I tell it like it is. The current shape of both our countries, Poland and Lithuania, is significantly below the needs and expectations of our nations. These political forms are dwarfed, reduced, do not pursue either Polish or Lithuanian interests and do not protect our civilization, he added.

Polishness Parade in Lithuania. Grzegorz Braun came without an invitation

On Saturday, the Polishness Parade passed through the main streets of Vilnius – an annual procession organized in the Lithuanian capital on the occasion of the Polish Flag Day, the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad and the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution on May 3.

Grzegorz Braun was not invited to the event. However, some of the event participants stopped and took photos with the MEP, LRT describes.

The Confederation of the Polish Crown had previously tried to organize its assembly in Vilnius on May 1. However, the city's mayor, Valdas Benkunskas, officially announced that the city does not consent to this. He turned directly to Grzegorz Braun, questioning his willingness to use European values.

At the same time, the Lithuanian Department of State Security announced that it had no information indicating a threat to state security in connection with the planned visit to Vilnius by Polish politician Grzegorz Braun and other representatives of the radical right-wing Confederation of the Polish Crown.
