Prolonged heat wave: temperatures above normal and few rains by mid -July

The weather stays very hot in almost the whole country in the next four weeks. Meteorologists announce temperatures above normal average and few rains, especially in western and southwest of the country.

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) published the weather forecast for June 16 – July 14 on Friday. According to estimates, in the next month we will have a warmer weather than usual, with few rains or even in many regions of the country.
Week 16 – June 23, 2025
This week, the thermal values will be higher than those specific to the period in the southwest regions. In the rest of the territory, the temperatures will approach the normal environments, but slightly lower values are possible in the northeast.
On the other hand, the pluviometric regime estimated for this interval will be deficient at the level of the whole country, ANM reports.
Week 23 – 30 June 2025
The heating tendency is accentuated in the southwestern half of the country, where the temperatures will be above the ordinary ones. In the other regions, the values will generally remain close to the normal ones for this period. The amounts of precipitation estimated for this interval will be deficient in all regions.
Week June 30 – July 7 2025
The average air temperature will be above the normal values for this period in almost the whole country, especially in the south and southwest. These regions will feel the most powerful effect of the heat wave.
Only in the east of the country is it possible that the pluviometric regime will be maintained almost normal. Otherwise, the lack of rains will continue, ANM says.
Week 7 – 14 July 2025
In the last week analyzed, the entire country will record higher temperatures than those specific to the period, with the most pronounced deviations in the southwest regions.
The amounts of precipitation will be deficient in all regions, but especially in the western and northwest, warning meteorologists.
