On forums (Softpedia) and Redit Romania, users tell how Airpods, SSDs or Fake perfumes received through eMag Marketplace.
Such cases, proven with documents, also entered the possession of “Adevărul”.
A client said he has made three orders on eMAG, including cosmetics and electronic products, which proved to be counterfeit products.
“Emag is hidden by saying that the seller is the ones who are responsible for the originality of the products, …. but this cannot be true since eMAG.ro is a retailer with a dominant position, not a simple street corner store. Instead, the attitude and actions that enter them when you announce that you have received a counterfeit product is the night of the mind.
First of all, they call you, they do not want to write anything on the email, even if you tell them you can't talk because you may be at work or you do something else. And give you return to products. And you say that the situation is much more serious than a return to the products, because you received counterfeit, illegal products (not that you are not good for your shoes) (…). After I return it that Seller agreed to give you the money back on the product, and you tell them that the seller should be blocked immediately, because they are at risk for Romanian consumers, eMAG representatives say they will make checks and that they will come back (…) Another important aspect is that from the moment it was informed by the producer, the producer was for the manufacturer. Absolutely all the customers who have ever ordered from these Selleri and immediately stop their use, especially in the case of cosmetics, which you put directly on the skin !!!!!! Another ugly thing is that you cannot give reviews to write that the product is counterfeit ”the buyer confessed.
He attached the order to eMAG, but also documents from the real manufacturer of cosmetic products, which demanded the EMAG the immediate stop from the marketing of counterfeit products and the prohibition of the Seller to sell on the eMAG platform.
Cosmetics manufacturer's conclusions: Complained products are counterfeit
The cosmetics manufacturer was notified by the buyers, following the analysis of dozens of products sold on eMAG finding that they are counterfeit.
“The product differs significantly from our production standards and does not come from any of our authorized lines.
The counterfeit product involves serious risks including:
• the use of unknown or insecure ingredients;
• misleading packaging that can cause allergic reactions or irritation;
• misleading consumers and harming the image of the Skin1004 brand and official partners.
The manufacturer asked eMAG to block the selection
The producer in Seoul, Korea, asked eMAG, in writing, through his law firm, to:
– check all active sellers that list Skin1004 products on the platform and request the proof of the acquisition from the Official Distributor in Romania: One Master Distribution SRL (eMAG – n. RED,);
– Immediately inform all customers who have purchased product that they are confirmed as counterfeit
– Immediately eliminate any seller that cannot provide proof of legal origin, to prevent the repetition of such incidents.
“We also ask to provide us with a list of sellers who cannot transmit valid evidence on legitimate origin. Their actions are considered a serious violation of the registered brands, which can lead to civil and criminal procedures.”the producer wrote.
What eMag says

In order for a trader to list on the platform and market products through it, it must comply with the legislation in force, and if deviations are found, it may be temporarily or permanently suspended from the platform.
According to the legislation in force, Sellerii are the only ones responsible for the products they sell. We have a set of indicators that we follow, and By periodic checks we take additional safety measures for the benefit of customers”.
