The United States supported Poland's plan. No more “historical” dependence

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement after Thursday's round of Strategic Dialogue that Poland wants to become a regional LNG hub in Europe. The United States supported this idea. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the LNG hub is intended to replace “the historically vulnerable east-west model with a diversified north-south system.”

Poland is a regional LNG hub
The 16th round of the Strategic Dialogue between Poland and the United States took place on Thursday in Warsaw. The talks were conducted under the chairmanship of Polish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Kupiecki and American Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker. After the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement from both sides. It informs, among others: about US support for Polish energy ambitions.
“Poland and the United States discussed opportunities to strengthen their close partnership in the field of energy security, including through secure supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the region and supporting the implementation of civil nuclear energy projects with the participation of American companies in order to increase electricity production capacity in Poland,” reads the ministry's statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reports that “both sides have committed to cooperation to ensure reliable, affordable and safe energy supplies to Poland and the region. The United States expressed support for Poland's aspirations to become a regional LNG hub that will replace the historically vulnerable east-west dependence model with a diversified north-south system.”
Poland and the United States also signed a framework agreement on critical minerals on Thursday and agreed to cooperate to secure their supply chains.
They also discussed the work of the G20 group, to which Poland was invited. The US expressed support for Poland joining the group as a permanent member. “Both sides emphasized the need to improve regulations supporting economic growth, entrepreneurship and technological progress,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
