“Today, in Suceava, the contracts for the design and execution of the Pașcani – Suceava section, part of the A7 Motorway, were signed. It is the first contract for Romania financed by the SAFE Program, a European program that supports investments in infrastructure with a dual role, civil and military. This financing allows the continuation of large infrastructure projects, given the high pressure on existing budgets”the prime minister said.

According to him, the Pașcani – Suceava section has a total length of approximately 62 km, divided into two lots. The works include dozens of bridges, overpasses and viaducts, road interchanges, service spaces and infrastructure for electric vehicles.

The duration stipulated in the contract is 30 months: 6 months for design and 24 months for execution.

“This project is important for the North-East region, where connectivity remains an essential condition for development. The connection between Pașcani, Suceava and further to Siret and Ungheni will create better conditions for mobility, investment and economic development”added Ilie Bolojan.

He specified, at the same time, that this is it “the result of an effort that started several years ago, from carrying out feasibility studies to going through the approval and bidding stages”.

“I thank all those who contributed to this journey: the local authorities, the Ministry of Transport, CNAIR and all the institutions involved. I also thank the builder for the capacity demonstrated in the infrastructure projects carried out so far. It is important that Romanian companies complete such works, create jobs and contribute to the development of the economy”he added.
