Shakhtar Donetsk, the only representative of Ukraine in European competition, lost the first match of the UEFA Conference League semi-finals to the English Crystal Palace, the UEFA official website reports.
The game in Krakow, Poland, ended with a score of 1:3 in favor of the English club.
Crystal Palace midfielder Ismaila Sarr opened the scoring in the 21st second of the game – this goal is now the fastest in the short history of the Conference League.
In the 48th minute, Oleg Ocheretko equalized the score, but the English, despite the pressure from Shakhtar, managed to score twice more: in the 58th minute, Daichi Kamada did it, and in the 84th minute, Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The return match will take place in London on May 7. To reach the final, the Pitmen need to score at least three more goals than their opponents.
