The most favorable days for sowing in April are the 1st, 11th, 15th, 19th–24th and 30th. During this period, plants take root better and produce strong seedlings.
Gardeners who focus on the phases of the moon do not recommend sowing crops on new and full moon days. From this point of view, the 3rd, 6th–8th, 12th–14th, 17th, 26th–28th are considered unlucky dates in April.
In April, vegetable seedlings are planted in open ground: radishes, onions, garlic, legumes and herbs. When the weather is favorable, potatoes and corn are also sown.
It is recommended to plant vegetables in open ground on April 1–2, 5, 10–11, 15, 20, 22–24 and 28–30. For herbs and spices, the 1st–4th, 10th–11th, 15th, 18th–21st and 30th are suitable.
Seedlings are sown between April 1–3, 5, 9–11, 15–17 and April 19–24. It is best to plant seedlings of trees and shrubs on April 4, 10–11 and 18–25.
During this period, cold-resistant flowers appear in the flower beds: asters, dahlias, daisies, calendula, marigolds and cornflowers. They tolerate possible night frosts well.
“Experienced summer residents note: even the most suitable dates cannot replace proper care. However, the combination of agricultural technology with the lunar calendar often gives the best result and helps to reap a rich harvest,” the article noted.
