“His teeth were flowing, you've never seen anything like that! Do you know what the referee wrote in the report?!”

Ioan Andone chooses his best team Dinamo from the 1980s and clears up a controversy, the suspension from the second leg with Liverpool: “That idiot of a referee…”.
Andone and Rednic were the only Dinamo players who, in the '80s, reached the two European semi-finals – '83-'84, in the Champions Cup (0-1, 1-2 with Liverpool), and '89-'90, in the Cup Winners' Cup (0-1, 0-1 with Anderlecht).
Which generation was older? Answers Andone: “I think the '84 one. We drew with Liverpool. Do you realize – the smallest player on the pitch to give you a header?! When you think… God rest “Babi” (no – Nelu Stănescu)he was holding Sammy Lee. He was small, but he had some legs, some legs… When you looked, you couldn't see him anymore. He took his face and scored.
And in Bucharest they were better, let's admit it”.
Ioan Andone, anecdotes from the historic “double” Dinamo – Liverpool: “He breaks Movilă's jaw and the referee writes that I committed repeated violent fouls!”
After 0-1 at “Anfield”, the “dogs” also lost in the second leg, score 1-2 in Bucharest. Andone was suspended for the second leg of the CCE semi-final, but not for the classic accumulation of yellow cards.
He went on to explain: “It's true that I got a yellow card at Liverpool, but I was already coming off a served suspension. What was the problem? Because the referee (no – Andre Daina from Switzerland) he wrote “violent attack” on the sheet!
He breaks Lica Movilă's jaw, he doesn't even give him a yellow card, even though Movilă's teeth were flowing, you've never seen anything like this (no – Movila took a punch to the face from Graeme Souness)and me, for a foul… It's true that it wasn't just one foul, actually there were about 5, but it was who who, with Dalglish and with Ian Rush…
I was with Sandu Nicolae: “Sandule, we don't change, let them come in front of us, let's not run after them”, because they were crossing, they were some players…
And I did a few fouls, but in those days you didn't get yellow so easily. That idiot referee wrote: “repeated violent fouls”. And UEFA suspends me. When I had to stay at two and 4 yellows, I stayed at 3! And that's why I didn't play in the return game”.
Andone admits that the English “were better in Bucharest, what else… They also won the Champions League. My God, what a match! But what a good generation we had, fighting, with Costel Orac, what a footballer!, with Mulțescu…”.
The team from '90 was a team built over time, by Mircea. And I think we could repeat the performance of Stella in '86 if the Revolution didn't come and the players didn't leave. We had a good team, me and Rednic were the oldest
