Former French international Wissam Ben Yedder (35 years old) signed with Sakaryasporteam from Turkey's second league, after breaking up from the Iranian band Sepahan.
“Our club has reached an agreement with Wissam Ben Yedder. We want a lot of success in the black-green shirt,” Sakaryaspor said, without revealing the contract duration.
Last season, the striker evolved in Iran, where he had 6 appearances, managing to enroll only for Sephan, occupying the second place.
Sentenced in two different files, Wissam Ben Yedder signed in Turkey
The transfer comes a few days after Ben Yedder was found guilty of “psychological violence” against his wife, with whom he is in the process of divorce. He was obliged to pay 90,000 euros in the form of a fine and another 60,000 euros to his wife: 30,000 as compensation, 30,000 for the costs.
Ben Yedder's lawyers asked for their customer to pay, who denied that they were physically violently, but recognized “awkward” in his words.
In a separate file, Ben Yedder was sentenced in November 2024 to two years in prison with suspension, being found guilty of sexual harassment against a woman who approached as long as he was in a state of intoxication.
In another file, in Spain, he was sentenced to six months with suspension for tax fraud during the period in Sevilla (2016-2019).
Besides, it is investigated with his brother for rape over two women, an accusation he rejects.
