Biedronka returns double the deposit. An unusual promotion is starting

Since the beginning of the implementation of the deposit system, Biedronka has been trying to make the packaging return process as simple as possible for its customers. In some stores, instead of traditional vending machines, cardboard collection boxes appeared, which significantly facilitated the use of the system. As part of the May promotion under the slogan “Biedronka takes the deposit itself”, the chain is introducing an additional incentive for customers.
“The mechanism of the campaign is simple. The customer buys drinks in packaging covered by the deposit system and pays a standard deposit. The equivalent is then received in the form of a voucher to be used for subsequent purchases in Biedronka stores. Then, after returning the empty packaging to the recyclator, of which the network already has over 3,600, he or she recovers the deposit in accordance with the rules of the system. In practice, this means that Biedronka covers the cost of the deposit, rewarding customers for ecological choices,” we read on the Biedronka website.
Biedronka customers willingly return plastic packaging
So far, customers of Biedronka stores have already returned over 280 million packages using the largest network of automatic recycling machines in Poland.

“This is a result that shows the scale of the positive change and the real impact of consumers' everyday decisions on reducing the amount of waste and increasing the level of recycling. This change also has an economic dimension – the highest redeemed voucher in our network was PLN 432 and was collected in Radlin,” informs the Biedronka store chain.
