VIDEO Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson Caught in Love Triangle in First 'Verity' Trailer

Amazon studio MGM released the first official trailer for the twisted thriller “Verity”, based on the novel of the same name by the American author Colleen Hoover, and actresses Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson promise an explosive performance, reports Variety magazine.
“Verity” will be Hoover's fourth novel to hit the big screen in just two years. The three previous films based on his books, “It Ends With Us,” “Reminders of Him” and “Regretting You,” were all box office hits. “Verity” opens in North American theaters on October 2.
The release date for Romania has not been officially set yet, but it will most likely be around the US one, before the film is later streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
“Verity” stars Dakota Johnson as Lowen Ashleigh – a struggling novelist. She is hired to finish bestselling author Verity Crawford's latest book, played by Anne Hathaway, after an accident leaves her unable to finish it.
What will the movie be about with Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett
As Lowen works on the project, he discovers a disturbing unfinished manuscript that raises questions about Verity's mental stability. Josh Hartnett, Brady Wagner, Asel Swango and Daniel Echevarria round out the cast.
In the official trailer, Lowen sneaks around the Crawfords' home wearing a silk robe while Verity sleeps soundly in bed. With Verity practically bedridden, her husband, Jeremy played by John Hartnett, begins a relationship with Lowen. But as the two kiss, Lowen notices blood on his mouth and realizes something much more sinister is going on.
“Darkness ahead,” Verity hints in the two-minute trailer.
A new movie from Amazon studio MGM
This year marks Amazon MGM's first year with a full slate of theatrical releases. After missing the start of the year with “Mercy,” “Crime 101” and “Melania,” the studio had a huge box office hit with sci-fi feature “Project Hail Mary,” which has so far generated $600 million worldwide.
Variety notes that the upcoming film “Verity” looks poised to continue that trend, given Hoover's promising track record at the box office.
Until then, Anne Hathaway can be seen in the new film The Devil Wears Prada 2, one of the most anticipated comedies lined up for this year.
The film, which reunited the cast of the original feature film released 20 years ago, opens in theaters this Friday, May 1. However, some cinemas in Romania are broadcasting it in advance as of today.
