A few days after North Korea launched its new destroyer, a war vessel equipped with “the most powerful weapons, Kim Jong an acceleration of the nuclear armament of military ships, reports the North Korean Press Agency, quoted by AFP and News.ro.
The North Korean dictator said that “the time has come to accelerate the nuclear armament of the Navy to defend the state and maritime sovereignty of current and future threats.” He presented several tasks in achieving this objective, notes the quoted source.
According to AFP, North Korea holds the atomic weapon, which it regularly catalogs as a necessity in discouraging the “aggressive” military exercises of the United States and South Korea.
Last week, North Korea launched a “new multifunctional destroyer”, called “Choe Hyon”. The ship could be equipped with “short-range tactical nuclear missiles,” NK News specialized.
Kim said then that strong preventive attack capabilities are “the most convincing factor in discouragement” and that there are no limits in terms of such attacks.
