Drunk driver gets into an accident and hits an ambulance paramedic in the face

April 28 10:30

In Krasnoyarsk, police officers are conducting an investigation into an incident involving a medical worker.

According to law enforcement officials, everything happened on the night of April 19. At about 3:00, traffic police inspectors arrived on Shumyatsky Street to register an accident involving a passenger car and noticed that the driver showed signs of alcohol intoxication. The man was invited into a company car for examination. The police's guesses were confirmed; the driver was indeed drunk.

While drawing up the report, an ambulance paramedic approached the car to clarify the man’s condition. At that moment, the drunk driver showed aggression and hit the woman in the face.

“Police officers used physical force against the man and handcuffed him. After this he was taken to the police department. The paramedic, who suffered from the actions of the driver, filed an application with a request to bring him to justice established by law,” the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region reported.

A protocol was drawn up against the violator under Art. 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for driving a vehicle while intoxicated. On April 20, the court sentenced him to 10 days of arrest.

The paramedic's statement has been registered, and an investigation into the assault is currently underway.
