As explained by the Ministry of Finance, the government assumes that the introduced solution is temporary. The reduction in VAT rates is related to the unstable situation on fuel markets caused by the conflict in the Middle East and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
The reduced VAT rate on fuels – gasoline, diesel oil and biocomponents constituting autonomous fuels – was initially supposed to apply until the end of April.
